Our top priority is the responsible and secure handling of data.

Data Security

kleio adheres to a strict privacy policy under which no user data is shared with third parties by the application.

Your personal content and files belong exclusively to you and are accessible only within your account (work archive). They only become visible when you specifically publish your content—such as a project—on a website (either your own or one to which you’ve been invited).

You decide which content on a website is view-only and which is available for download—whether publicly or behind a password. You can edit and update your shared content at any time.

You can access your structured content in your work archive at any time and restore it to its original quality to use it in other ways.

Backup

All data can be exported from kleio autonomously and in a structured format at any time. Data is exported as a CSV file with ID references to the images and documents. The images and documents are provided as a ZIP file within an ID-labeled folder structure.

Compatibility

Since long-term data security is a top priority for kleio, we continuously implement the latest technology to safeguard your data for the future. This also requires you to have a system that is more or less up to date.

We strive to remain compatible with older systems as well, but can only guarantee this for the past three generations (which allows for the use of devices that are approximately 8 years old).

Some kleio features may not work properly if you're using an older browser. Make sure to update your browser regularly to stay on the safe side.

kleio does not delete data

kleio does not delete user data. If an account is not paid for, the information and data are stored in encrypted form. As soon as the account is paid for again, or someone contacts us to take over an account (inheritance), the data is released again. Data can only be deleted by the users themselves.

Technology

kleio is regularly updated with the latest technology to ensure that user data is securely preserved for the future.

Smart

kleio is a web-based application. With a kleio account, users automatically create their own private work archive, which they always have with them and which also provides them with many smart features for their daily work (organization, communication, and project management).

This tool makes it easy to capture content for specific tasks. All content is automatically organized and saved in the work archive with each activity, so it can be reused indefinitely for other tasks in the future.

With each activity, your personal portfolio grows, becomes more organized, and is refined—building for the future, starting today.

Server

We use dynamic server infrastructures. Data is stored close to the respective user. If you live in Europe, your data is also stored on servers in Europe, and the relevant security and data protection regulations apply.

What would happen if kleio were to cease to exist?

Although we have been working on kleio with great dedication and passion since 2007 and have no intention of ever stopping, a situation like this could arise. To ensure our users are prepared for such a situation, kleio offers the [backup function]. This allows all users to create a complete backup of their own kleio database independently and at no extra cost, which can then be imported into another database.
