Felder
A record can be described using various fields. This allows kleio to systematically capture content. Later, it's possible to filter or sort by field content. See: Sort and Search
Field contents can also be selectively shown or hidden for export and display within the space.
Showing and hiding elements is configured in the display options of the respective space or in the export options.
Here are the different types of Kleio fields. The color-coded ones have specific characteristics and differ in their application from simply entering text into text fields/files.
These are explained in detail further down this page.
Simple Text Fields
Text can be freely entered in these fields.
Function Fields
These fields enable various functions and have specific properties.
Formattable Text Fields
Text can be entered and formatted in these fields.
Files and Media
These fields allow you to create a filing structure for your files and media.
Tag Fields
These fields allow you to enter relevant tags (keywords). You can then filter results based on these tags. Both kleio tags and custom tags can be used.
Use
Function Fields
The properties of the function fields affect input and display.
Here you will find detailed information about each function field and explanations of how to input it:
Sorry! This entry is currently under work and only available in German. Thank you for your patience! In kleio by hovering over the ? you can find descriptions for these fields.
Tag Fields
This is a tag field.
You can either enter your own terms directly into the field.
Or you can click the arrow to the right of the field and select from the existing kleio tags.
To do this, navigate to All Tags.
Creating a New Tag You can create a new tag in two ways:
Either simply type the term into the field and press Enter. Or click the arrow on the right, type your new tag in the Search and Create field, and then click Create Tag.
If you have already created a new tag, select it from the list of all tags for the next record and do not enter it again. Otherwise, an additional tag will be created each time and will appear multiple times when you filter by it.
All fields with tag functionality are visible to the kleio team. We translate a selection of tags into German, English, and French and mark the most frequently used terms as "kleio Tags." This allows other kleio users to benefit from your tags and use them for their records.
By creating your kleio account and accepting our terms, you give us your consent to this.
The same tag appears multiple times; what to do?
Formatierbare Text Felder
On the left, you can enter and format the text.
On the right, you'll see a preview of how the text will appear (e.g., on your website).
kleio automatically inserts programming characters into the text. These are displayed on the right as formatting effects.
However, you don't need to use these programming symbols; you can simply select the formatting option from the menu at the top, just as you would in any other text document (e.g., in Word).
If something doesn't work: Make sure you only select the text and that there are no spaces before or after it.
Formatier-Vorlagen in der Leiste
B = bold
I = italic
U = underlined
S = strikethrough
🔗 = changes a URL to an active link
Line break = adds a blank line
Bullet Points
Use this field to add a simple bulleted list. If you have already entered text, be sure to insert a line break before the bulleted list.
Numbering
Use this field to add a numbered list. If you have already entered text, be sure to insert a line break before the list.
Formatting with Symbols
Separator Line You can insert a thin separator line using three asterisks `***`.
Title
Adding a # and a space before the text makes it larger and it appears as a title.
Bullet List with Indentation
You can create a bulleted list with indentation using colons :. Remember to insert a line break beforehand if you've already entered text before the list.
Insert active links into formattable text fields
In the text editing fields, you can insert active links. This means you can link to external pages, and your space visitors can access them with a single click.
To do this, first enter your text in a text editing field.
Then highlight the part of the text that you want to be clickable as a link. In this example, it's here. And then click on the link icon at the top of the formatting bar.
Then you will see the following:
Now copy the link that should open when "here" is clicked into the green highlighted field.
In the right-hand field, you can see how your text will appear on the website. On the left, you can see which link has been added. Save your entry now and test on your website whether the link works.
You can add an unlimited number of links this way.
Open link in new tab
If you want your link to open in a new tab, you can copy and paste this:
<a href="kleio.com" target="_blank">kleio</a>In this example, the word "kleio" is linked and opens in a new tab to the kleio.com page.
→ Now delete kleio.com and copy your link into it.
→ Delete "kleio" and enter the term you want to link.
