Settings
Click on the cog wheel to get to your Space settings.
The Space settings will then open. You can select individual settings for each Space.
Title
Click on the cog wheel to get to your Space settings.
Here you can define the Title of your Space.
The title will then appear at the top left of your Space.
Visibility Status
Click on the cog wheel to get to your Space settings.
Here you can choose whether your Space should be visible or hidden. Only if you set it to visible here can other people access your website.
If your Space is set to hidden here, the eye in the overview is crossed out and the Space name is gray (not black).
If your Space is set to visible here, the eye in the overview is not crossed out and the Space name is black (not gray).
Public kleio Domain
Click on the cog wheel to get to your Space settings.
When you open a kleio account, kleio automatically creates a domain with your name. This will then become the domain for your main space. You can customize this domain in your account settings.

In addition to your main space, you can add unlimited additional spaces. For all additional spaces you can choose URL slugs that will be added to your kleio domain.
If your main space is YOURNAME.kleio.com, the domain of an additional space that you open for an exhibition, for example, could look like this: yourname.kleio.com/exhibition2022. In this example, exhibition2022 is the so-called URL slug.
As long as you have not yet entered a URL slug, placeholder appears in the settings.
Own domain

Password protection
Click on the cog wheel to get to your Space settings.
Here you can protect your Space with a password. You can enter your desired password here and then tell it to the person you would like to give access to. The password must be at least 6 characters long.
If someone enters the domain of a password-protected Space, this field will appear:
This allows you to make selected content accessible only to certain people.
If you want to remove the password protection, you can simply delete the password from the field.

Languages
Click on the cog wheel to get to your Space settings.
If you have selected multiple languages in your account settings and have entered your content in multiple languages, you can also display it in multiple languages on your website.

Click on the languages for which you would like to have a language slider on your website.
Fields display
Click on the cog wheel to get to your Space settings.
Here you can select which field contents should be displayed in your Space and which should not. The fields with a black background are displayed, the others are not.
You can also specify which media & files folders (Gallery, Attachment, Admin, Archive, Process) should be displayed as preview images and whether they should be allowed for download.
Download options
Click on the cog wheel to get to your Space settings.
You can share images and files for download. If you select a folder under List for download, all the files in it will be listed on your Space for download. Visitors to your website can then download your original files locally to their computer. If you only want certain people to be able to download files, we recommend using a password.

Design options in Space
Click on the cog wheel to get to your Space settings.
You can customize the appearance of your Space according to your needs using a few parameters.
In the Space settings, click on 'Custom
' under Display options.
Now you can choose from various options.
Tile settings
In the first section, you can define the alignment and size of the tiles, as well as the border and alignment of the image.
Tile Size
Here you can change the size of the tiles in the overview.
Tile Size: Big
Tile Size: Small
Tile Size: Medium
Alignment Image
Here you can set the alignment of the images in the overview.
Alignment Image: Centered
Alignment Image: Above
Image Coverage
Here you can set how the image coverage should appear in the overview.
Image Coverage: Framed / Alignment image: Centered
Image Coverage: Filled / Alignment image: Centered
Image Coverage: Filled / Alignment image: Above

Lines
Here you can set how thick the lines should appear in the overview.

Settings Overview
In the second section, you can determine the display of the navigation menu, the composition and display of the label and the selection of tags.
Navigation menu
Here you can set whether the navigation menu should be displayed closed or open at startup.
Heading in Overview
Here you can set whether the heading should be displayed in the overview.
Heading Overview: Show
Heading Overview: Hide
Tags as Filter
Here you can choose whether All
tags should be shown as filters,None
, only the kleio tags
, or Selected tags
. For selected tags, you can specify them per field.
The tags then appear as filters on the website:
Note: For shared records, the tags that the space owner has activated are displayed.
Heading composition in Overview
Here you can select which field information should be displayed as a label for your records in the tile view in your Space.
You can choose between the fields Date
, ID
, Label
and Originator:in
.
So that you can select the fields and they are displayed, they must:
- set to visible in the space settings.
- More about this here: Field Display
- filled out in the respective record. For example, if a record has no date, no date can be displayed in the heading.
As soon as you have selected fields, they appear with a black background. This is what it looks like, for example, if the fields ID
and Label
are selected.
Now you can change the order by moving the fields back and forth using drag and drop.
For example, the overview in your space looks like this if you have selected the fields 'ID
' and 'Label

Settings Detail View
In the last section, you can determine how the field labels and captions are displayed in the detailed view. The detailed view opens when you click on a record in the space.
Field Title
Here you can set whether the field label should be displayed in the detailed view.

Captions
Here you can choose which caption should be displayed under your images. You can choose between no caption
, copyright
or copyright + caption
.

Multilingual input of the Spaces

To translate your navigation, i.e. the title of your Space and the names of your sets and folders, you can use the language controls in your Space:
Your default language (here German) will be displayed automatically. To translate the title of your website and the navigation, first set the language slider to another language:
Now you can translate the title of your space if necessary.
To do this, open the settings and adjust the title. The title on the right-hand side of the panel adjusts automatically.
So that you can also translate the names of your sets and folders, make sure that the language slider is still set to your target language. If you want to translate your navigation into English, your target language is English.
Then click on the three dots next to a set or folder:
Then click on the small pencil and adjust the names.
Now the English headings will appear on your website and in your kleio if the language slider is set to English.
Display options and settings for the Sets in Space
While you can only change the name of the sets in the Organize panel on the left, your sets have further setting options in the Present panel on the right.
To access the set settings, click on the three dots to the right of the set you want to edit
Then click on the cogwheel
The set settings will now open.
Set Settings: Display status
Here you determine whether the set is displayed on your Space or not. The set is only displayed if it is set to 'visible
' here and the Space itself is also set to visible.
You can also recognize hidden sets by the fact that their frame is displayed in grey.
Set Settings: Settings Detailed view
In the first section of the Set settings, you can determine how the records are to be displayed in the detailed view.
Facts
If you have selected Facts
, your records will appear with the information below the images:
Gallery
If you have selected Gallery
, your records will appear with a small info
button at the top right, which visitors can use to expand and collapse the information:
Blog
If you have selected Blog
, the images in the records appear larger and if there are several images in a record, they appear one below the other. At the top right is an info button that visitors can use to expand and collapse the information:
Screen
If you have selected Screen
, the images will appear full screen and with a small info
button at the top right, which visitors can use to expand and collapse the information. Note that the images are cropped.
Set Settings: Settings Overview
In the second section, you can specify whether the records in this set should be displayed as a list or as tiles, how they should be sorted and you can add a description text.
Display
Here you can determine the display of your records in this set.
If you have selected As tiles
, the records are displayed in the space in this way:
If you have selected As list
, the records are displayed in the space as follows:
Sort
Here you can specify whether the records in this set should be arranged randomly or with your specified sorting.

Descriptive text
Here you can enter a descriptive text for your set.
The text will then appear on your Space above your records.
Here you also have the option of entering the description text in multiple languages. To do this, use the language slider at the top right of the field.
You can also make parts of your text bold by placing two asterisks (**) before and after the text. These will then be light blue and will not appear in the Space.
You can italicize parts of your text by placing an asterisk (*) before and after the text. These will then be light blue and will not appear in the Space.
To check how your text is displayed on your Space, you can also click on this symbol in the top right-hand corner:
The preview view will then open. You cannot write anything in the preview view, it only shows you what the text will look like. You can recognize the preview view by the <> sign at the top right. Click on this symbol to switch back to the other view.
